BUSINESS COMMUNICATION: AN INTRODUCTION 

1.-How do you define communication?

Communication is an ability of transmit our ideas, thoughts, opinions and feelings about any topic. You can be succint about your point of view and help you engage many relationships 

2.-What is the role of communication in management of business?

 It's really important because you need have great internal communication to have a successful company as it can promote business interest and helps reduce problems with clients, customers, dealers or distributors. 

3.- What are the different purposes of communication? Briefly explain any five of them.

For teaching: This one is very important because you need to know how to be safe in work. This one helps people to avert accidents, risk and avoid cost.

For integration: Helps in the unification of different management functions.

For influencing: It implies the provision of feedback which tells the effect of communication.

For image building:  an enterprise has to inform the society about its goals, activities, progress and social responsibility.

For employees orientation: helps to make people acquainted with the co-employees, superior and with the policies, objectives, rules and regulations of the organization.

 4.-Discuss the different situations when the communication exists.

There is a person who wants to pass some information

 There is another person to whom the information is to be passed on

The receiver partly or wholly understands the message or information passed on to him

 The receiver responds to the message or gives feedback.

 5.-“Communication is an exchange of facts, ideas, opinions and emotions by two or more

persons.” Explain the statement and discuss the role of feedback in communication.

It's really important complete the information (go back to whom from where it started) because you need to know how was the reaction of the receiver. That reaction it's called feedback 

 6.-“Communication is the two way process.” Explain.

That you can have a communication you need at least two people,the receiver and the sender.

 7.-Discuss the elements of communication process.

 Sender or transmitter: Sender initiates the message and changes the behaviour of the receiver.

 Message: It may involve any fact, idea, opinion or information. 

 Encoding: The communicator of the information organises his idea into series of symbols (words, signs, etc.) which, he feels will communicate to the intended receiver or receivers.

Communication channel: The sender has to select the channel for sending the information. Communication channel is the media through which the message passes. It is the link that connects the sender and the receiver. 

 Receiver: The person who receives the message is called receiver. It is a receiver who receives and tries to understand the message.

Decoding: Decoding helps the receiver to drive meaning from the message. 

Feedback: The reaction or response of the receiver is known as feedback.

 Brain drain: we can say that it is breakdown of cycle at any level.

 8.-Give three examples of brain drain in communication process.

1.-send an email to the wrong receiver for not having the correct email address.

2.-misunderstand the message for bad orthograpy, punctuation, etc.

3.- Make mistakes in management.
